SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY Meeting WEDNESDAY 10th APRIL, 2002

Minute 14

Snowdonia Green Key : Progress Report

Submitted – A report by the Planning Manager (Policy) updating Members on the latest position.

Reported – The Chief Executive reported upon the outcome of the public consultation which had highlighted considerable opposition to the scheme.  The Authority had unfortunately been singled out as the responsible party although the Park Authority was only one partner of the six who were part of the Project.  Consultants had recently been appointed to review the scheme in the light of the consultations and to advise the partners on how to proceed.

Members were satisfied that the Authority’s officers were willing to listen to public opinion and take on board all the views expressed.  However, the approach taken by the Partners had possibly been too ambitious.

Members were advised that a further report on the detailed recommendations would be made available at the next Authority meeting.

Members expressed their disappointment that the Project Officer was not present at the meeting.

RESOLVED

  1. to note the report.

  2. to await a further report with clear recommendations to the next Authority meeting in June
